Hire a Fractional CFO who is also a CPA
CPA stands for “Certified Public Accountant”.
I'm actually a fractional CFO. I don't work as an accountant.
Then why on earth do I use my CPA initials?
First, the 𝗖𝗣𝗔 is actually a brand
Once you see 'CPA', you know this person's been tested and trained – and made it out alive. The hard selection. So, it's like a seal of expertise, reliability and trust. (not bragging here, that's really the reputation of a CPA)
Second, the 𝗖𝗣𝗔 is beyond just accounting
Business, finance, regulations, audit.. It's a multi-tasking badge. You can handle and oversee very different functions of a company.
Third, this is a guarantee that you keep your skills sharp
Training is a serious thing for CPAs. 80 hours every 2 years. Otherwise you face penalties/suspension.
And finally, a CPA must follow strict Ethical standards
It's rule #1 - break it and guess what? Yeah. You risk losing your license/serious disciplinary actions. (I don't joke with that)
All this makes you trust better your CFO when they come from a regulated background.
